An explosion smashed windows in a flour mill in southeastern Calgary on Wednesday night.
Fire crews, emergency medical services and police responded to the scene at 6:45 pm at 4002 Bonnybrook Road S.E.
Police said the explosion took place on the 10th floor.
Seventeen workers were in the building at the time and all were found.
Nobody was hurt.
"Security was a concern, which is why a second alarm was triggered at this facility, for the sole purpose of obtaining additional equipment and resources to help us search the building and to us. ensure that all workers had been evacuated, "said the fire department, Batt. Chief Bruce Gelhorn.
Gelhorn said that there was a small fire in the building in some areas after the explosion, but at 20:10. it was under control. This floor suffered minor damage, but no major structural damage.
The sprinkler system was triggered by the explosion, explained Gelhorn, which helped control the fire.
ADM Milling Co. appeared at this address. The company's website states that its Calgary plant produces flour, blends for the bakery and bran and wheat germ.

The cause of the fire is unknown, said Gelhorn.
"The investigators have just started their investigation, so it will probably take several hours to find out exactly what caused the explosion," he said shortly after 8 pm.
