KILLARNEY, Ont. – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry recommends the mandatory evacuation of an area of ​​northeastern Georgian Bay due to a forest fire.

The Department says that the fire – called Parry Sound 33 – covers about 384 hectares and is not controlled

It calls for the mandatory evacuation of Key Harbor Zone on the south side of Key River and on the north side of Key River, south of French River Provincial Park, as a precaution.

The department says the area is reserved for boats and recommends residents to travel by boat to Key Harbor Landing, and then leave the area by car.

The fire was discovered Wednesday and the department said teams were working since two days to quell fires
