'Game of Thrones' actor tapped for Star Wars TV series 'The Mandalorian' role

Actor Pedro Pascal is in talks to take over Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian.

The former Game of Thrones star has been reported to be the lead for the first live-action show.

Penned by Iron Man 's Jon Favreau, the top secret project will follow the work of the first gunfighter following the fall of the Empire and the First Order.

Further casting details for The Mandalorian – Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Dave Filoni will take charge of the first episode, while Thor: Ragnarok Taika filmmaker Waititi, Dope's Rick Famuyiwa, and Bryce Dallas actress Howard will also be stepping behind the camera for season one.

The Disney + service has yet to be given an official launch date, but it is expected to be unveiled next year.
