THE GREAT MATCHUP

Patrik Wool against Aleksander Barkov

Tampere's two close friends have been in the limelight all week and will now be fighting for supremacy on the Global Series stage. Laine has played five games without scoring or scoring, so he hopes to be able to cook at home. Barkov is tied for third in team scorers with two goals and 10 points in nine games.

5 keys of the game

Finish the work

On several occasions over the past few days, Jets players have pointed out that most of Saturday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs would be the template they will have to follow to succeed this season, minus the turnovers, of course. For more than 50 minutes, the Jets were solid in defense and built a lead. But having allowed three goals in the third period, including two in 26 seconds, the Jets wondered what could have happened if they had closed the deal instead of taking the advantage. Coming with a 60-minute effort remains a work in progress.

Trembling everywhere

There have been many line shifts for the Jets in recent weeks and head coach Paul Maurice hopes to regain some stability after his most recent changes. The other part of the equation is finding a way to get extra ice time for the fourth line, so that the best guns can stay cooler.

Scheifele rolling

Jets center Mark Scheifele racked up seven points in four games last week – including a four-point effort in a 5-4 overtime win over the St. Louis Blues. Scheifele and teammate Blake Wheeler combined for 23 points, but 13 of those had the advantage of a man. If the dynamic duo manages to play with the same strength, it will be even more difficult to play.

Recording of heavy minutes

In the past six games, Byfuglien has scored two goals and six points while he has gone seven points of the season. He was also a major point guard during that period, outscoring 23:58 of ice time in five of those games, reaching 28:24 against the Blues. Byfuglien scored his first goal only in the 30th game last season.

Do not forget Dadonov

Although Barkov is the pilot of the line, he discovered an excellent chemistry with Evgenii Dadonov. After five seasons in the KHL, Dadonov returned to the Panthers. He scored 28 career goals and 65 points, his best career result, and leads the team with 10 points in nine games this season while he was playing on the front row with Barkov.
