For several years, the Google app allows users to unlock a device with your voice when they interact with Google Assistant. After removing the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL, "Unlock with Voice Match" seems to be about to become obsolete and to be replaced on all other Android devices because it is not too secure .
"Unlock with Voice Mail" allowed users to make their voices serve as access codes to the device. The general premise was that if an order you gave to Assistant required additional action – such as opening an app – the phone would be able to authenticate and let the command continue without be temperate.
However, this feature was considered "less secure" – even by Google – with a prompt warning users that it was the case before allowing you to activate it. Namely, "a voice or similar recording of your voice" could unlock your device and give someone a full access.
Thus, from Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Google has replaced it with "Personal Lock Screen Results". This means that Voice Match can only display e-mail, calendar and contacts via the wizard interface. pbadword or fingerprint unlock. In the big scheme, it's safer and it's the right decision to make for Google, users can 'enjoy enhanced security.'
This depreciation of "Unlock with voice match" and its replacement with "Lock screen personal screen results." Is not yet activated from Google's 8.39 app. This could take effect on future releases or via a server-side update.
