Google's Project Fi service may soon benefit from a serious upgrade. According to a BGR publication that was removed and appears to be a broken embargo on a future Google announcement, Google is opening Project Fi to more devices.
More specifically, Google could add support for Samsung devices, OnePlus, as well as LG and Motorola, reports Droid Life. Some LG and Motorola devices already work with Project Fi, but Google could eventually add other devices of these brands to its arsenal.
And if OnePlus and Samsung were not enough, Google could add support for Apple iPhone devices – in beta.
The only drawback is that you may not be able to fully enjoy "Google Fi" on these devices. And for a complete Fi technology experience, you'll need to purchase "Fi technology" devices that are officially marketed by Google and its partners.
And notice the Google Fi brand? Google could finally abandon the Project Fi brand and replace it with the Google Fi brand, as we announced earlier this month.
