The first Google Chrome OS tablet is about to come out, Best Buy and the Google online store are starting to accept pre-orders on Tuesday.

Pixel Slate was first announced in early October and is expected to be released later this year. According to Best Buy, pre-orders are expected to arrive Nov. 22.

Google's online store provides an estimate of delivery charges of two to three weeks at the end of the ordering process.

Pixel Slate is the first Google Chrome OS tablet, after the company dropped Android-based tablets. Pixel Slate is running an updated version of Chrome OS that is a bit reminiscent of Android, although it has access to the desktop version of Chrome, all the security features of Chrome OS and the ability to install Linux applications and Android.

The Pixel Slate Keyboard and the Pixel Pen are both sold separately, priced at $ 199 and $ 99 respectively.

The Pixel Slate starts at $ 599 and is available in several configurations. The base model includes an Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of memory and 32GB of storage. The Pixel Slate exceeds $ 1,599 for a tablet with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.

The launch of Pixel Slate follows Apple's announcement of the release of a pair of remodeled iPad Pro tablets. Both have a face ID, a small frame, and a USB-C Lightning port.

You can pre-order Pixel Slate and accessories from Google or Best Buy.
