The former astronaut says that her first year as Governor General has been" quite fun ", allowing her to meet outstanding Canadians from all origins when she travels across the country. Her first Canada Day message, Payette, says Canadians are lucky enough to live in a country where everything is possible and where people can "dare to dream," as she says.
She urges Canadians to come out of their country in their own way, to have fun and stay "open, caring and engaged".
