San Francisco, July 27 (IANS) Aimed at expanding its presence in the United States, HMD Global – the Finnish company that sells the Nokia brand – is recruiting a team, media reports said.
According to some job postings on LinkedIn, HMD Global is looking to hire an ecommerce leader to deal with its online distribution partners like Amazon and Best Buy.
It takes a technical account manager to handle customer needs, PhoneArena said Thursday night
"It's actually an interesting move since Xiaomi has not yet entered the US market Most of HMD's Nokia smartphones available in the US are in the middle range, which would have made Xiaomi a fierce competitor, "the report added.
According to job offers, the company also needs to talk to carriers and decide on a roadmap, anticipating market trends.
Without the help of operators, it will be difficult for Nokia smartphones to compete with Samsung, LG and Motorola, which have long-standing partnerships with all operators in the country, PhoneArena said.
