Something strange happened to the owners of the iPhone this morning.
Credit: 9to5MacWhen people woke up and took their iPhone on Tuesday, November 13, some of them discovered on their handsets that a message stating that their Apple ID was locked is reported by 9to5Mac. It's unclear how widespread the problem is and how far it could be extended, but 9to5Mac said he had received "many reports" from people about it.
If you see the lock screen of the Apple ID, you can retrieve access by answering security questions. You will also need to enter a trusted phone number, which will be used to validate the unlocking of your Apple ID. In some cases, according to 9to5Mac, people have been forced to reset their pbadwords.
The report does not clearly say what could be causing the problem. According to 9to5Mac, people who saw it did nothing extraordinary with their phone. Instead, they were simply warned that their Apple ID settings would need to be updated. During the lockout period, they lost access to iMessage, iCloud and Apple Music, which made the iPhone much less useful until the Apple ID was unlocked.

Apple has not commented on the problem and at least until now, there are no known causes or fixes other than entering information and verifying your identity. 9to5Mac asked if the problem was caused by malicious hackers forcibly attacking Apple IDs in an attempt to steal information, but so far, at least, there is no evidence that this is the case.
For the moment, keep a close eye on your Apple ID and see if something weird is happening. If this is the case, best answering security questions and verifying your identity would be the best way to resolve it and go forward.
