Terrell Owens was not the first player to feel disrespectful by the Hall of Fame voting process. He will not be the last.
Owens, who waits three years before entering the Hall, is a kid's game compared to what other great people of all time have had to wait.
Look no further than T.O.'s 2018 clbadmate, Jerry Kramer.
Kramer is generally considered one of the greatest Packers of all time. The guard's braces speak for themselves: named NFL team in the 1960s, NFL's 50th anniversary team, the Super Bowl's birthday team chose an All team -Pro five times (team twice), made three Pro Bowls, and won two Super Bowls.
Despite the pedigree, Kramer had to wait for the Hall of Fame's appeal. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait.
Kramer retired in 1968. He will eventually be enrolled at the HOF next month as a Senior Entry.
Speaking at a conference call Wednesday, Kramer said that he understood Owens' frustration with the Hall.
"The emotional package that comes with this is everywhere," said Kramer, via Aaron Nagler of Packers News. "First, when I was nominated for the first time, there were high hopes and joy: I had trained the 50 year old team and I had been there for a while. I had trained a lot of star teams, so I planned that I would go so obviously, when I was not selected, there was a disappointment.
"So somewhere around the fifth or sixth appointment, I got angry."
Kramer said that the anger turned into "I remember [thinking]," Well, they can take that and they can put it where the sun does not shine "," Kramer said. "I probably went through the same emotional package that Terrell is going through."
