Jim Watson will be Ottawa's mayor for the next four years, CBC News predicts.
Watson won 72.8% of the vote (22 out of 759) and ahead of his closest rival, Clive Doucet, with more than 23,000 votes.
With his third consecutive election victory, Watson is poised to complete his flagship light rail system and guide the $ 3 billion extension of the light rail system.
Watson also campaigned to limit the tax hikes to 3% – an increase from the 2% cap that he had imposed the previous mandate – in order to use the same tax rate. money to repair roads and cover unexpected costs related to cannabis.
He also committed to hiring 75 more police officers and 56 paramedics and spending about $ 1 million on economic development.
