Many reports indicate that WWE superstars John Cena and Daniel Bryan refuse to work with Saudi Arabia's "jewel of the crown" pay-TV, Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs should appear in "Kane" on November 2nd.

This event is part of a 10-year partnership between WWE and the Saudi government accused of murdering journalist Jamal Khashoggi of the Washington Post.

The partnership aimed to support Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" economic and social reform plan. The plan aims to promote the image of the country as "the heart of the Arab and Islamic worlds".

Specifically, the 10-year contract was between WWE and the Saudi General Sports Authority, a government entity.

"Our partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority reflects a long-term commitment to bringing WWE's world-clbad entertainment to a global audience on a larger scale than ever before," read a press release from WWE.

The statement was made before the pay-per-view of the "Greatest Royal Rumble" in Jeddah on April 27. The WWE was criticized after no wrestler was allowed to participate in the event due to the country's cultural norms.

The controversy escalated after Khashoggi's badbadination on Oct. 2, and "Crown Jewel" is "very under threat," according to well-known wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer.

WWE superstars "refuse to work"

According to Meltzer, creative WWE teams have learned that superstar John Cena will not participate in the event, according to Bleacher Report.

Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports made a similar report that said Cena and superstar Daniel Bryan "refused" to work on the series.

Fox added an update at Tweet, indicating that WWE is looking for other places for "Crown Jewel".

Jacobs spokesman Rob Link did not immediately respond to phone calls and messages regarding the mayor's decision to participate in the event.

Jacobs announced two weeks ago that he was still planning to participate in the "Crown Jewel".

There is absolute pressure on the WWE

Meltzer went to Wrestling Observer Radio on Tuesday to discuss "Crown Jewel".

"The decision was not made, but it is much less (certain) than a week ago when they were enthusiastic enough to do the show," he said. said Meltzer, according to Sports Illustrated. "I do not know the exact dialogue, but there is absolute pressure on (WWE Director Vince McMahon) not to go now."

Meltzer suggested that the controversy surrounding Khashoggi's murder is why the "Crown Jewel" notes are not on sale last week as planned. Tickets are still not available.

According to WWE, the company is monitoring the situation in Saudi Arabia. He made no announcement as to the possibility of withdrawing from the event.

Meltzer suggests that the WWE takes into account the financial factors in the approach of the event. According to Sports Illustrated, the Saudi government is paying "tens of millions of dollars" for the event.
