Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle seemed overwhelmed with emotion as they joined the Queen in honoring fallen soldiers in the centennial of the armistice.

The Duchess of Cambridge stood beside the monarch and the Duchess of Cornwall on a balcony overlooking the cenotaph, while millions of people were killed to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

She seemed to hold back her tears before looking at Prince Charles, and William and Harry were also respectful.

The Prince of Wales has laid a wreath in the Queen's name for the second year in a row to lead the nation to pay homage to all those who lost their lives in conflict.

The Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of Susbad, and the Princess Royal then lay their own crowns before saluting.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Susbad, was visibly moved when she joined other members of the royal family on the balcony of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office while two minutes of silence were reserved to commemorate and honor those who have suffered or died in the war.

The event marks the 100th anniversary of the signing of the treaty that ended the battle on the Western Front of the First World War at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918.
