CORNWALL – At least three buildings were destroyed and one collapsed after a mbadive fire on Thursday night in the eastern part of the Village.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported
The hell began after 18 hours. where a multi-unit building is located at the southeast corner of Alice Street and Montreal Road. The nine-unit complex at 701 Montreal Road was renovated after a fire at the same location in August 2016.

The fire was also hot enough to make melt the cladding of the restaurant The Shack, the On the other side of the street, as well as another building on the west side of Alice Street behind The Shack. At 8:30 pm, firefighters broke the front windows of Poirier Furniture to get to the fire, while orange flames danced through the clouds of smoke in front of a rising moon.
You could see the smoke from the structures Several kilometers away and the show drew hordes of people, many armed with cell phones capturing the moment.
A section of Montreal Road from McConnell Avenue to the east to Belmont Street is closed to traffic. like Prince Arthur and Louisa Streets. The Cornwall Community Police Service and the Cornwall Fire Services both asked people to avoid the vicinity of Alice Street and Montreal Road
Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services was also on the scene as a precaution and the Cornwall Community Police also controlled
