Building a bit of hype before its public unveiling, Hyundai has announced that its new three-row utility vehicle will be called the Palisade.
Replacing the South Korean manufacturer's Santa Fe XL, this vehicle has been shown to select media, including AutoGuide.com, at a private event in Michigan earlier today.
Aside from the name, specific details about the palisade, its size and powertrains with the features offered, are strictly embargoed, which means we can not say more for the moment. Thankfully, you will not have to wait long to find out more about this vehicle. Its public launch is scheduled for the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2018, which will open its doors to the media on November 28, in a few weeks.

You may be surprised at not being retired from Santa Fe XL. We heard rumors that Hyundai was considering introducing a new utility vehicle called Palisade. AutoGuide.com announced the news when we discovered a patent filed by the manufacturer that was protecting the name of Palisade in April.
To get a quick overview of what this product might look like, spy photos of a test mule were also broken during the summer, possibly giving the interrogator a rough idea of the overall proportions of the Palisade.
