When launching its latest flagship smartphone lineup, Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, 'Nightsight' showed what software can do to improve low-light photography. Since the launch, many developers are working in some cases on porting functionality to other non-pixel devices. However, this has also pushed smartphone manufacturers such as OnePlus to launch their own version of the "Night Mode" in its recently released flagship device, the OnePlus 6T. The company has also extended the mode to OnePlus 6 in a software update and it seems that another smartphone manufacturer is working on its own "night mode".
According to reports, it seems that Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is also testing its own "night mode" to improve the quality of images taken in low light conditions. The company has deployed the new mode on some devices, including the Mi MIX 2S with its latest version 8.11.8 of the ROM Beta ROM global MIUI 10. This new version brings a number of bug fixes with the night mode.

Some of the bugs fixed in this release include a hidden application feature not working on Poco F1 devices, a security application not visible in the Settings application, a numeric message indicating pending updates displayed in the system application update program, but no update pending or no notification a blank.
The company seems to work hard to provide device updates with quick beta updates for high-end devices. This information comes right after the revelation that Xiaomi is deploying the stable version of its MIUI 10 to 20 additional devices.
