According to Denver's FOX31 news, the 77-year-old singer-songwriter and wife Katie McNeil paid a visit to the incident on Friday night, where they greeted firefighters and thanked them for their efforts in trying to control the blaze, which had burned 12,287 acres. Authorities are hoping to have the fire fully contained by Thursday, Aug. 2.

As a special treat, Diamond took the stage, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, to perform a sing-a-long-of-his-hit "Sweet Caroline"

Rocky Mountain Team Black shared video of the performance on Facebook, where it was described as "an incredible event for the team and crews."

Diamond's fans were saddened earlier this year when he announced he
