July 12, 2018 – 2:41 PM [19659004] VERNON – Shooting for the Hollywood movie A Score to Settle with Nicolas Cage drew many spectators today while a scene was filmed in front of a church in Vernon.

Part of 27th Street in front of Beairsto Elementary School was closed today, July 12, while the movie production team was taking the road. Some pbadersby thought that the activity was an accident caused by traffic control and emergency vehicles (a police car was used on the set).

Cage could be seen wearing a button-down shirt and a beige jacket with fake blood spread over his chest due to apparent bullet wounds.

Locals watched intently as Cage repeated several Once – often just lying on the steps of the All Saints Anglican Church, built in the 1930s Spectators had to stay silent while the cameras were spinning.

Rev. Chris Harwood-Jones, of the All Saints Anglican Church, said he was approached by the film crew who was looking for a church with a traditional look in the Vernon area [19659012 "It's a lot of fun," says Harwood-Jones. "There was a call for people to play wedding guests and a number of our parishioners volunteered to be in the wedding crowd."

He says the two-day rental fee for the building also helps with their fundraising efforts.

According to Deadline, Cage incarcerates a convicted hand man released from prison after being blamed for a crime that he did not commit. While fighting a terminal illness, he takes revenge against those who have wronged him.

A casting call in May called for local extras to play hotel staff and guests, wedding guests, gang members, prisoners and guards, police, patrons of the spa and seniors. The call was held May 26 in Kelowna.
