Kenny Omega was once the undisputed leader of the Bullet Club. Cody arrived at the scene, fighting ensued and the second-generation star returned the faction against The Cleaner. Omega's victory over Kazuchika Okada at Dominion for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship was perhaps the greatest moment of the Winnipeg native's career, but he admitted that the defeat against Cody in their first match he had haunted it. Exorcise this demon and retain his title as he defended against the American Nightmare in a prominent, star-studded main event.

Brandi Rhodes accompanied her husband in the ring, but it was only a matter of time before the songs of "Kenny" pleased the stands and heavyweight champion IWGP made his way to the ring. An intense clash between bitter enemies preceded the match, the tension in the air was so strong that it could be cut with a knife.

Omega and Cody exchanged chops early before an opponent's whim had earned him two-counting. Rhodes grabbed control of the match until a plunge on the top rope by the champion left him lying on the floor. Back inside the square circle, Omega delivered a V-Trigger and a suplex dragon, but Cody answered with one of his own.

Cody's crest punished knee and omega quadriceps, but the champion reversed the grip and had his opponent screaming in pain. Outside the ring, Cody grabbed a chair while Omega recovered a ladder. The challenger took over and sent a slam on the ladder that hurt the spine of the champion.

An inverted suplex sent Omega to the sternum and chest first in the scale

in danger, his championship reigning in a desperate situation, as Cody rolled. At the edge of the ring, Matt Jackson tried to reason with The American Nightmare, to no avail. With Omega spread out on a table, Cody pushed The Young Bucks to the ground and climbed the ladder. Omega joined up there and a fight broke out.

From the top of the scale, Cody blocked a superplex attempt across the aforementioned table and, instead, brought Omega to crush on the rug underneath

IWGP Heavyweight Championship as a weapon, but the official shot him away from him. Omega capitalized on a momentary distraction, using a reverse rana to stun his opponent. Recovered, Cody teased using the championship but resisted, instead of delivering Cross Rhodes for near fall quality.

Omega retaliated, unloaded some V-Triggers and a powerbomb. Cody blocked him but ate another V-Trigger. Omega lifted Cody into a powerbomb position and sent him on the top rope and on the table mentioned above. The table did not break, however, and the challenger landed with a thud on the floor.

Brandi Rhodes tried to intervene on behalf of her husband, to no avail. Another V-Trigger by Omega was met with a Cody Lbado clothesline as the burnout put in. A double hooked omega piledriver earned him a two-stroke. The One-Winged Angel finished Cody and earned the victory at Omega

After the after-game promotion of Omega, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and King Haku hosted the Elite in top of the ramp. After a brief demonstration of unity, the trio attacked the Elite and all the other Bullet Club members who tried to save the battle.

Sports T-shirts that read "Firing Squad", Tonga, Loa and Haku left everyone lying down. 19659003]

Analysis [19659003] More than a New York Pro-Wrestling match in 2018, it was like a WWE main event of 10 years ago. The narration was there, but it did not always click. The heat was not really what it should have been for two hugely popular wrestlers in the states. Perhaps this can be attributed to the nature of the game's outcome.

Perhaps we can blame him for the Robinson-White match that preceded him.

Whatever the case, the crowd was not near "

The effort was definitely there, and despite some jerky moments or moments when it was clear that the stars were pbading by their next spots, it was always a very good match. Rhodes lost, as expected, and Omega managed to retain his title in his first defense.

The heated rivalry, which began with friendship, ended in respect in what was a little fantastic of the narrative. Cody helping Omega and his fallen Bullet Club comrades did as much to tell his story as anything else.

The post-match fight created a factional war between the Bullet Club and the new Firing Squad. Tonga, Loa and Haku looked like an unstoppable force, which was necessary at the beginning of their existence as their own unity.

The question now is whether the Bullet Club will come out of the last chapter of its tumultuous history stronger than it was before. set his sights on the renegade part of the group or if the beating he's suffered will create questions at the top and quarrel even more about who the leader of the group really is.

Whereas NJPW is trying to appeal to a wider audience of American fans, it was a fantastic way to end the show and let the audience want more.
