Nokia X6 Global Variant to launch in Hong Kong on July 19th: Report

Nokia X6 is expected to reach the global market and global deployment is expected to begin with Hong Kong. The handset, which debuted in China in May, would enter the Hong Kong market on July 19. People at Mobile Magazine HK report that the Nokia X6 will come to Hong Kong as Nokia 6.1 Plus. Despite the name change, the device would have the same design and hardware as the one originally launched in China. This means that the new model will have a 5.8-inch screen with a snapdragon design and a Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC under the hood. However, some changes are likely to be available on the software front, as the next device is announced as part of Google's Android One program – just like the Nokia 6 (2018) which was unveiled at MWC 2018 in February . It is also planned to run stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The Nokia X6 in China, by contrast, runs Android Oreo with a custom interface on top.

That said, it was not revealed whether HMD Global, the licensee of the Nokia brand for phones, plans to launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus in the global markets after its arrival in Hong Kong. The price of the rumored phone is also coming. Nevertheless, we can safely badume that some formal details about the Nokia X6's global variant will emerge at the launch of the Nokia 6.1 Plus later this month.

Previously, Juho Sarvikas of HMD Global organized a Twitter survey to understand the demand for the new smartphone in markets other than China. In addition, the global variant of the Nokia X6 would have received NCC certification from Taiwan last month.
