Ottawa, unfortunately, is no stranger to the floods. Last year, Canada's capital and its neighboring city of Gatineau, Quebec, experienced a terrible spring flood that led to the state of emergency and mbad evacuations of houses in the area.

Well, the heavy rains that swept over Ontario yesterday did not spare Ottawa, leaving floods all over the city, but fortunately the time spent is not as detrimental as last year.

Heavy rains bombarded the city, which is already prone to flooding, and left puddles and floods along highways, parks and of course through the channel.

The Rideau Cbad runs through the city to the city center. Because of the rain of yesterday and today, the cbad has overflowed and the water has spread over the rocks and walls of the waterway , affecting trails, parks and roads that run on either side of the cbad.

While the GTA has seen some relief from the rain today, Ottawa has not caught a break yet. Forecasts predict even more downpours in the region while some Ottawa weather stations have already recorded more than 100 mm of precipitation.

The flood even began to affect some buildings and caused events to be canceled due to the rain falling inside the buildings.

The good news for Ottawa is that the forecast predicts a break in the rain tomorrow, but not for long because more rain is expected on weekends.

Ottawa and other parts of southern Ontario are currently under a rain warning.
