TORONTO – The former leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario is trying to make his comeback in the fall municipal elections

Patrick Brown has officially cast his hat in the # 39 arena to become president of Peel Region.

The regional president is the chief executive officer of the municipal corporation and the head of the regional council.

Brown resigned as Conservative leader in January after two women came forward. His resignation, months before the provincial election, triggered a hastily-run leadership meeting that saw Doug Ford take the reins of the party.

Ford blamed Brown for a number of charges. problems that emerged during the spring election campaign culminating in the Conservatives' majority victory.

Brown filed a libel suit He also announced that he was writing a book revealing what he describes as his "political badbadination".

Brown is not the only former provincial legislator. Regional Job Candidate – Former Liberal Minister Steven Del Duca is competing to become York Region President, another position to be elected for the first time.
