Wearing a t-shirt with the word "empathy" on his chest, Watts instantly connects to the Island crowd quoting our secret desire to let no one move here and we overpopulated, offered some advice ("moderation") on the upcoming legalization of marijuana and, in a British accent, was mocked of our colonial roots and lack of diversity. I'm kidding – I know you know how to party, "Watts joked saying that he had been warned that we would go to bed early

The improvising master gives a new twist to the national anthem and discovers in the crowd the 39, the customs officer he met earlier in the day, promising everyone that he was a perfect gentleman and followed any protocol.

Watts says he's got six or so seven t-shirts bearing the names of his favorite cities of all time.

"One of them says Victoria," he said.

Phillips Backyard Weekender continues today with Hollie Cook, Small Town Artillery and The Revolution, Prince's legendary back-up band. For a full schedule check out BackyardWeekender.com.
