Finally! The painfully prolonged departure of Antonio Conte de Chelsea is complete. It has taken the Blues 55 days since the end of last season and all 61 words to signal the end of Conte's reign at Stamford Bridge. However, according to some media reports in the UK, Conte and Chelsea still disagree on its profitability and a team of lawyers is working to find a solution.
Chelsea spent most of the summer worrying about similar financial transactions related to the appointment of Maurizio Sarri – successor of Conte – without much success. According to media reports, Sarri's move from Naples to Chelsea is very close to the conclusion, but with Chelsea these days, nothing is a lost conclusion until the parties involved put it the pen on paper

Yet despite the drama of the summer that surrounds the managerial position, it is a situation and only among many others that is a little under the control of Chelsea. Even as Chelsea is about to clean up this mess, the crisis is knocking on the door of Stamford Bridge
Chelsea is ten days away from his first pre-season game and less than a month away from his first match in Premier League. Yet they have a manager position to fill. A new manager entering the summer is not a first for Chelsea, but the latest that they named a new director in the summer is Andre Boas Villas. He was placed in the lead on June 22, 2011. Chelsea has pbaded this date to 21 days and yet the Blues are not able to announce their new manager.
It's mostly a blow to the Blues considering the campaign they endured last season. Even though Chelsea finished by winning the FA Cup at Wembley, his title defense, which has been marked by alarming levels of underperformance by some of his key players, can not be surpbaded.
Chelsea has to some extent reflected the performance of the 2015/16 season, which contrasted completely with his remarkable campaign in 2016/17, when he raised the Premier League by breaking records
. The possible departures of stars like Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Willian have not been alleviated by the uncertainty surrounding the managerial position. Thus, the unpleasant possibility that a team that badly needs reinforcements may be further weakened in the face of Chelsea as the new season approaches.
Chelsea's transfer policy was heavily criticized last season and was largely responsible for Chelsea's disappearance on the Champions League football. The Blues in an attempt to play hard on the transfer fee for his goals lost on a lot, frustrating Tale at the breaking point. The summer signatures Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and David Zappacosta have not had the expected impact. The Blues failed to correct their transfer policy in the month of January when groups such as Alexis Sanchez and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were present. Chelsea, who once again was determined not to shell out the heavy transfer fees, ended up with Olivier Giroud, Ross Barkley and Emerson Palmieri. Giroud proved to be the only positive addition, but was still far from what the team needed to compete in the Champions League or get a spot in the top 4.
Premier League Clubs have voted for the transfer window to be closed the season starts from the 2018/19 campaign. This will leave Sarri very little time to evaluate the team and make additions. IMoreover, the team was badembled keeping in mind the Conte system. Sarri's philosophy and playing style are very different from those of his Italian counterpart, which leaves him with a lot to do for this group of players to play successfully.
Even though it is thought that Chelsea is close to signing Napoli's midfielder Jorginho, the Blues have not managed to add to their team until this summer. Even if Jorginho's move goes by, Chelsea will have a lot of problems to resolve, with the center forward position being the main concern.
With World Cup players coming back to the club late, Sarri's hands are tied. In 22 days, Chelsea's preparation for the campaign will face an attack test against Manchester City when the Blues face them in the Community Shield.
Chelsea is no longer the financial power of the last decade. away in the blink of an eye and empower Sarri before the start of the season. Without Champions League football in the coming season, Chelsea will find the pursuit of their goals a bit more difficult. So it's unlikely that Chelsea will have a better team compared to last season when she start her campaign next month, not to mention a bunch of players that fit Sarri's thinking. In fact, with uncertainty about Hazard's future, Chelsea will be delighted to be able to count on his best players.
To become a force in the transfer market again, Chelsea had some plans in the pipeline. The renovation of Stamford Bridge into a 60,000-seat stadium was in the foreground. After settling several disputes and getting all parties to reach an agreement, Chelsea decided to go ahead with the plan for its new stadium. But even this plan is temporarily suspended, as the owner Abramovich is at the end of the stalemate between Russia and the United Kingdom.
In the last six months relations between Russia and the United Kingdom have deteriorated considerably. Both countries expelled diplomats from each other. Russia has expressed disappointment over the search for their airliner at a British airport and has been threatened with similar treatment by British airlines. Abramovich in the middle of the stalemate was denied visas by the British government. In response, the owner of Chelsea decided to fire on the Chelsea Stadium plans until the situation was resolved. Some reports also claimed that the stalemate could affect Chelsea's transfer budget through this window.
As Sarri prepares to become the new manager of Chelsea, the Blues have done little to distance themselves from an imminent crisis. The management headquarters at Stamford Bridge is saving a manager some easy rides. Sarri will come in full knowledge of this. But the dark clouds over Stamford Bridge may still have some surprises in store for him. These may not be really nice.
These are tense times in Chelsea. They find themselves at a crossroads again. The Blues have been here before and recovered, but this time it will be a challenge even for the resilient Londoners of Roman Abromich.
