There was a large police presence in Burnaby on Thursday night, where RCMP officers were in conflict with someone locked in a house.

Several police vehicles were called to the Canada Way residence between 18th Avenue and Edmonds Street.

The Burnaby RCMP stated that they had been called to a residence for a domestic violence dispute.

They managed to get a woman out of the house, but a man known to the police was locked inside the residence.

The police were then notified that the man had a pan-Canadian arrest warrant for his arrest.

Several neighboring houses have been evacuated, but police say that there is no risk to public safety.
