Ram customizes 1500 trucks for off-road and street use
This year's SEMA show will see Ram unveil two stylish 1500 pickup truck concepts. Each concept will highlight the Ram 1500's ability to think outside the box and look good on the street.
The modified Ram 1500 Rebel concept by Mopar has been implemented. With more than 200 parts and accessories for the all-new van, the Rebel concept further strengthens the off-road capabilities of the 1500s.
It is painted in a unique blue shade nicknamed "Rebel Smoke" and comes with a two-inch lifting kit for better ground clearance. The 18-inch black satin alloy wheels and the 35-inch Goodyear Duratrac tires give the Rebel concept unparalleled view of the road and improved traction on any terrain. In addition, the custom van also receives aluminum running boards, dark-colored wheel arches, and metallic gray skid plates.
5-inch LED lights are mounted on a bed and provide extra light when traveling on trails. In addition, the bed comes with a spare tire holder and a black bed liner. The high-performance Ram hood, Satin Black Rebel graphics and 5-inch black gloss Mopar exhaust tips complete the exterior enhancements.
Inside, the interior has a monochrome appearance that replaces the traditional red anodized Reel edging finish. There are also other Mopar accessories, including all-weather floor mats, brushed and polished sill protectors, a wireless phone charger and a custom pedal kit.
Under the hood is an upgraded 5.7-liter HEMI V8, featuring a Ram Airflow cold air intake system. Exact release figures have not been released, but Ram said the original engine was even better.
If style is what you are looking for, Ram also offers the "Low Down" concept of the 1500 Big Horn. It is essentially a modification "slammed in the street": it comes with a two-color exterior paint that Ram calls "Brbadphault". The upper part is painted in glossy black while the lower part is in solid silver, which gives it an elegant appearance.
From its name, the "Low Down" ride height has been reduced by two inches thanks to a prototype downhill kit. Meanwhile, the oversized 22-inch alloy wheels painted in glossy black give the pickup a more aggressive look and look. The bed, meanwhile, receives a one-piece caster also in glossy black.
Like the previously mentioned Rebel concept, the Low Down also includes all-weather floor mats, brushed and polished aluminum door sill plates and shiny pedal kits. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 under the hood also comes with a Ram Airflow cold air intake system that provides extra power and torque.
The Ram Rebel and Low Down 1500 concepts will make their official debut at the 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
