The Renfrew Provincial Police has made an arrest and is looking for a second suspect in the brutal murder of a 37-year-old man with injuries so serious that he was flown by Ornge to Ottawa.
Late Sunday night, police reacted to an altercation at Argyle Street South in Renfrew, where police and paramedics found the victim seriously injured. He was taken to the local hospital and then flown to Ottawa.
On Tuesday, police announced that they had arrested a 30-year-old man charged with several criminal offenses, including an attempted murder. The man, whose name was not disclosed, remained in custody pending a bail hearing on Wednesday in Pembroke.
Meanwhile, a warrant has been issued against Darren Pearce, 34, with no fixed address.
Police said that Pearce is considered dangerous and should not be approached. The investigation is continuing under the direction of detective insp. Dave MacDonald from the Criminal Investigations Branch.
