Martin remains a year-old for his current contract, a $ 82 million five-year contract that he signed with the team in 2014.
The Toronto native played 90 games last season with the Jays and had one of the worst offensive seasons of his career, finishing with 10 homers and 25 RBIs. He also posted a batting average of .194 with a base percentage of .338.
While playing mainly at the receiver, the 35-year-old also appeared in the left field, short stop and third goal of the Jays last season.
Martin has also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates during his 13-year career at MLB.
