An badistance dog from the Royal Newfoundland Mounted Police who went missing while searching for a suspect was found unhurt, police said Saturday.
Edge, a police dog from the RNC, was called in search of a suspect shortly after 4 pm. in paradise on friday. The black German shepherd was released by his master to pursue the suspect, Chad Quilty.
Quilty escaped and neither the suspect nor the dog was found.
The RNC issued a public statement Friday night, urging people to keep an eye on them and keep their distance.
Quilty was apprehended around 3am on Saturday at Holyrood by the RNC and the RCMP, and Edge was found later on Saturday morning, police said, in the same area where he was released.

Police said he was unhurt and "in a good mood" and that he would spend a restful day.
