San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Preview: Aquaman, Venom, and more

[ad_1]

The largest convention of its kind – San Diego Comic-Con – will be held later this week from July 19 to 22, giving fans an opportunity to interact and have a glimpse of their entertainment properties and their favorite stars. It's basically a four-day celebration for geeks of all varieties. But this year's Comic-Con is slightly different.

Some of the biggest names such as Disney – who owns Marvel Studios – and HBO are jumping SDCC 2018, which means there will be no trailer for Captain Marvel or a preview at the last season Long-awaited Game of Thrones

Fortunately, Hollywood is big enough that there is still much to expect at this year's Comic-Con, from Netflix, Amazon, Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures. Here is a summary of some of the greatest things at SDCC 2018.

Thursday, July 19th

Twentieth Century Fox
Time: 10:30 am (11 pm EST)

Just like last year, Fox will be focusing on an upcoming film: The Predator reboot of Iron Man 3 director Shane Black. Much of the cast of the film – Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, Trevante Rhodes, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski – and Black will be present.

already had a full trailer for The Predator, so it's unlikely we'll get another one. And there's no mention of other upcoming Fox movies – X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Alita: Battle Angel and The New Mutants – which is surprising, since they came out in the following months.

Doctor Who [19659006] Time: 11:45 (Friday 12:15 PM)

The new Doctor (the thirteenth, if you take into account) Jodie Whittaker will be present alongside the new showrunner Chris Chibnall – both have already worked on Broadchurch – will make an appearance, along with executive producer Matt Strevens, and co-stars Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill. BBC released a teaser Sunday in the World Cup final, and it is likely that we will see a longer trailer at Comic-Con.

Nightflyers
Time: 15:00 (Friday 03:30 am)
Location: Indigo Ballroom, Hilton Bayfront

D & # 39 After the news and George RR Martin news (Game of Thrones), Nightflyers is currently in production. Executive Producers Jeff Buhler, Gene Klein and David Bartis will star alongside stars Gretchen Mol, Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Jodie Turner-Smith and Angus Sampson. The show had its first trailer in June, so the chances of a new one for the audience are not high.

Marvel Television has not announced any panel except Chief Jeph Loeb for a discussion on what is in store for Iron Fist season 2, first later this year. There will inevitably be a trailer, and even an exact release date, I hope.

Friday, July 20th

While Jack Ryan has already seen some trailers, we only got top quality images for Good Omens. Fortunately, a teaser is on the way

Bumblebee
Time: 17:00 (Saturday 5:30 am)
Location: Hall H

Slightly surprising that this is the first time for Transformers in the famous SDCC Hall H, with the upcoming Bumblebee drone. Director Travis Knight will be joined by Hailee Steinfeld and the cast. A teaser was published in early June and it is possible that we have a full trailer

Sony Pictures
Time: 6:15 pm (Saturday 6:45 am IST)
Location: Hall H

Marvel could be sitting this year, but two films produced in badociation with Sony Pictures – Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – will be present at the SDCC 2018. The director of Venom Ruben Fleischer and cast Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed could make an appearance for the first, while Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be present for the second.

We had full trailers for both spin-offs of Spider-Man, so any footage aired will likely be exclusive to the Comic-Con audience. There is no word on Tom Holland swaying in there although he appeared at Seattle Ace Comic-Con last month.

The director of Aquaman, James Wan, has already announced the release of a trailer for his film, and we expect the director and star of Wonder Woman 1984 – Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot – come and go.

It is possible that the audience of Comic-Con have a first look at Shazam! Warner Bros. has several other movies for which he could project clips or trailers, including the fantastic beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Godzilla: The King of Monsters, and Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.
