Seven Harvard scientists are among the 89 researchers who have been
selected to receive grants through the National Institutes of
Health Research Program on Risks and Benefits, which funds
innovative research designed to tackle the major challenges in
biomedical science. Amy Wagers, Forst family teacher for the family
Cell and Regenerative Biology and Co-Chair of the Department of
Stem Cells and Regenerative Biology, and Peng Yin, Professor of
Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School (HMS), will receive
Pioneer Awards; Justin Kim, Assistant Professor of Biology
chemistry and molecular pharmacology at HMS and Po-Ru Loh,
badistant professor of medicine there, will receive a new innovator
Price; Richard Lee, professor of stem cells and regenerator
Biology at Harvard and Professor of Medicine at HMS, and Norbert
Perrimon, James Stillman Professor of Developmental Biology, also
at HMS, will receive transformative research awards; and Sergey
Ovchinnikov, a distinguished John Harvard Scholar, will be
