A 7 foot 8 inch adult male shortfin mako shark named "Oscar" has traveled more than 22,000 miles in less than two years. An 8 foot 4 inch adult male blue shark called "Buzz" has traveled the most southerly of all tagged sharks – more than 3,000 miles from Cape Cod, after the Caribbean in South America.

Oceana has created its shark tracking function as part of the global "real-time" monitoring of the impacts of commercial fishing on various species.

OCEARCH is another important shark tracker, where you can track great whites and other great sharks, too close to the shore for comfort.

Each shark brings scientists more information on what makes tick sharks. A great white shark, Hilton, recently returned to Nova Scotia, harboring a theory that the area is home to a Canadian breeding area for the species.
