If your Netflix broadcasts start broadcasting faster than usual in December, the reason is simple.
Shaw decided to automatically double the download speed of its two best-performing plans, with 300 Mbps becoming 600 Mbps and 150 Mbps becoming their new 300 Mbps plan.
Customers will receive nothing more for the new fast service, and new customers will also benefit from the bonus.
"It's not a promotion or a unique offer. This is an unprecedented upgrade to our best Internet packages, giving customers even faster speeds to help them use more powerful home technology and lead a more connected life, "said Brad Shaw. Director General of Shaw Communications, in a statement.
"We strive to give more value to our customers and we know that faster download speeds are essential. We are doubling the speed of our fastest offers. No stuff, no gadgets, just more speed. It's so simple. "
It seems as simple when you look at Shaw's website, where prices are consistent with the usual trend that preceded the speed increase.
Internet Plan 300 (which will automatically switch to 600 in the coming weeks) is available on a two-year plan for $ 55 for the first six months and $ 105 for the remaining 18 months.
The 150 goes for $ 50 a month for the first half and then up to $ 95 a month for the rest of the term.
Similar offers from its competitor Telus are currently offered at roughly the same price, with Telus Internet 300/300 at $ 55 for the first six months and $ 110 after, and Telus Internet 150/150 at $ 55 for the first six months and $ 95 a month later. However, these plans do not appear to require clients to sign two-year contracts.
So, that you drink another season of Office or watch the appropriate season Shrek the hallsyou'll know why this pesky loading circle disappears twice as fast.
