Stephen Colbert received a little help from Jake Gyllenhaal to celebrate the day before polling day at Monday's "Late Show".

Colbert and Gyllenhaal took part in a skit entitled "The day that spends the night before the elections," the show host waking up at the beginning of the clip after being visited by three ghosts; Republican leaders Chuck Grbadley, Mitch McConnell and Orrin Hatch.

He then went outside, only informed by the character of Gyllenhaal that the elections had not taken place yet.

While Colbert wondered what day it was, the actor insisted: "It's Monday, the day before mid-day."

The playful presenter revealed everything under his "Ebenezer Scrooge" dressing gown while he was dancing on the balcony.

Gyllenhaal insisted, "Seriously dude, you have to put on some panties! I can see all the election results and they swing to the left. "

He then added, "Dude, let me be clear! I can see all your penis, before Colbert leaves to do his show.

Colbert was not the only host to engage in the spirit of election day. Jimmy Fallon was also visited by Dr. Evil in "The Tonight Show". Mike Myers' alter ego has announced he is a congressional candidate on Monday's episode.
