A year ago, October 27, 2017, Super Mario Odyssey was available on Nintendo Switch. In honor of its one – year anniversary, Nintendo celebrated the event by publishing new illustrations and an impressive video.
Shared on the official Japanese Mario Odyssey on Twitter, the first tweet introduces Mario, Peach and Bowser in wedding attire. At their side are Luigi and his balloons, Pauline, Cappy and Tiara.
The second tweet contains a video with all the same characters dancing on a version of Jump Up, Super Star! with the text "1st birthday" displayed at the top.
This celebration is for the game, we awarded the elusive rating of a 10 and in our review of Super Mario Odyssey, we said "Super Mario Odyssey is a brilliant letter of adventure and love to the series that made Nintendo a well-known name. "
Super Mario Odyssey was also our finalist for the 2017 game of the year, narrowly beaten by The Legend of Zelda: the breath of nature.

While Super Mario Odyssey has not received significant downloadable content, aside from Luigi's Balloon World mini-game, Nintendo has backed it with a ton of post-launch costumes for our favorite plumber.
Mario's next adventure will see him return to Smash Bros. with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018.
After Smash, the new Super Mario Bros. U and New Luigi U will travel to the Switch on January 11, 2019 as Super Mario Bros U Deluxe.
