Nintendo shared another Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character post that revealed news of a new capacity the Super Mario Bros. fighter has in the next game.
Luigi has been a staple in the Smash Bros. since its inception, but he brings with him a new device. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to help him throw enemies around. Nintendo's post for Brother Mario, shared on Sunday, gave some information about the character Smash Bros. players already know it and have also declared that he will use "his new Poltergust" to launch their enemies.
"He can jump higher than his brother, Mario," began the article. "His special special, Super Jump Punch, will get maximum damage and launch power by hitting the opponent from the start. It's really a special move. He also uses his new Poltergust for his throw!
Luigi could already use his Poltergust in past games, the tool he uses to track ghosts in the video game. Luigi's Mansion series. But in Super Smash Bros. UltimateInstead, the device will be used in Luigi's launching technique, an attack shared by all Nintendo fighters that takes different forms depending on who is launching. Some characters have more distance on their shots, and with Luigi's Poltergust working as a vacuum cleaner to suck enemies, there is a good chance he will get some distance in his move.
Quite frustrating, the only revealing element of Luigi's new pitch was the text of the blog and not the video that was shared by him. This video, seen above, was the same one that Nintendo had shared at the time when she dropped all character characters for each of the movies. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate many fighters. The blog text stated that it was Luigi's "new" Poltergust, apparently referring to the one he would use in Luigi's Mansion 3. Nintendo revealed this game for the Nintendo Switch in September, so it may be that the information on the new throw was hidden to avoid warning anyone of the new game.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be available December 7 for the Nintendo switch.
