The Surrey man accused of killing a woman at the West Kelowna Best Western this week made his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon .
Tejwant Danjou, accused of second-degree murder of the death of Rama Gauravarapu, sitting quietly in the prisoner's box while the court was discussing when his case should come back before a judge.
Dressed in a checkered shirt and gray pants, the shaved head man nodded a pair of men into the gallery, as a student. an article that appeared on the phone for Danjou's lawyer, was awaiting clarification on when the case should be referred to the court. The defense wanted to return within a week, while the Crown had requested a two-week adjournment to get details in the case.
The defense also noted that they wanted to schedule a bail hearing at the Supreme Court "as soon as possible," they always prepare the request for hearing
Finally, the judge decided to postpone the Danjou case to August 2 and a bail hearing will be held in the near future.
Danjou, who is celebrating his 69th birthday this year, has been detained since his arrest earlier this week.
On Sunday night, police were called to a hotel 3400 blocks from Carrington Road following a report from a woman in need of badistance.
Staff Sgt. Annie Linteau said the police found a dead woman on their arrival and arrested a man a short distance away.
