Suspected images of the prototype of Asus Zenfone 6, the video leaked again online

The possible successor of Asus Zenfone 5Z already seems to be under construction. The rumor mill suggests that the Asus Zenfone 6 could be Asus' next online. However, the launch could be long. The smartphone would be at the prototype stage for now. Previously, some images of the alleged prototype of Asus Zenfone 6 had been leaked online, but another series of images and a video have now surfaced.

The last leak comes from HD Blog and are images of the so-called prototype Asus Zenfone 6 at an advanced stage of development. The new design of the leaks seems very different from the previous leaks.

According to the new prototype, it seems that Asus has incorporated a smaller notch resembling a drop of water, but not in the center. The notch is visible slightly to the right. Looking at the video, we see that the prototype comes with a dual camera configuration at the back, which is now in the center instead of at the top left. Previously, it was intended for triple camera sport configuration. Other aspects of the design include bottom-trigger speakers, a Type C USB port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

It is possible that Asus is simply experimenting with all the possibilities during the development phase and that the final product is totally different. According to rumors, the successor of Asus Zenfone 5Z could be launched early next year.

The Asus Zenfone 5z was unveiled at the MWC 2018 alongside the Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) and the Zenfone 5 Lite. In terms of specifications, the Zenfone 5z features a 6.2-inch full-HD + edge-to-edge display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM. An internal storage capacity of up to 256 GB will also be available.

For photography, Asus has opted for a two camera configuration at the back. This includes a 12-megapixel main sensor with 1.4 micron pixels and an 8 megapixel secondary sensor allowing 120-degree wide-angle shooting and portrait mode. The price of the Asus Zenfone 5Z is 29,999 rand. The basic variant has 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
