The Blue Bombers defeat Argos for the second week in a row

Nic Demski had a touchdown and caught one pbad for another as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated the Toronto Argonauts for the second week in a row, winning a 40-14 win on Friday.

Demski, a Winnipeg native who signed as a free agent after three seasons with Saskatchewan, finished with three races for 34 yards, including his TD run of 28 yards. He also collected five pbades for 82 yards with a 42-yard TD reception.

Winnipeg local running back Andrew Harris ran 10 times for 28 yards and caught five pbades for 50 yards. In the 38-20 win over Toronto last week, Harris fired the Argonauts for a career-high 161 rushing yards and a second after a pbad

Justin Medlock kicked off four placements for the Bombers. ] Argos had its worst start since 2011

The win propelled the Winnipeg record to 4-3 as the team headed for its first week of the season. Toronto, which had seven turnovers, fell to 1-5. The last time the Argos had a 1-5 start was in 2011, when they opened season 1-6.

The Argonauts started quarterback James Wilder Jr., who left Toronto's training Wednesday with a leg injury. door for 81 yards and a TD. Drew Wolitarsky received an eight-yard TD reception for Winnipeg and linebacker Ian Wild ran 18 yards into the endzone after Toronto kicker Ronnie Pfeffer was blocked by Winnipeg back Mike Miller.

Winnipeg quarterback Matt Nichols completed 19 of his 28 pbad attempts for 253 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

Franklin was 20 for 31 for 236 yards with zero touchdown and three interceptions

The Bombers led 13-0 after the first quarter, 23-8 at half-time and 26-8 after three quarters.

Medlock started a 47-yard punt at 1:33 of the start of the game. The score was set by the return of the receivers Daniel Petermann's 55-yard kickoff kick, which began with a throw from defender Tyneil Cooper

Costly Turnovers

Toronto appeared to be on the spot after Demski at 6:26 , but

Franklin completed a long bomb to receiver Rodney Smith, but he searched the ball while he was attacked by Brandon Alexander. Kevin Fogg, Winnipeg's defensive back, picked up

A 51-yard reception from new Kenbrell Thompkins bomber helped establish the 20-meter Medlock at 12:11 pm.

After Wilder Crossed the goal line at 6:33 of the second quarter, Nichols was intercepted by former Bombardier TJ Bruyère. The Argos only started one point after the Bombers conceded a punt.

Toronto unsuccessfully succeeds in intercepting an interference call, leading Demski to a transfer and sneaking near the touchline at 12:31

The semifinal is over when Fogg fired Franklin, a turnover that Winnipeg used for a 45-yard Medlock rush with 58 seconds remaining.

Toronto reached Winnipeg's 11-yard line in the third quarter-inch short on a third down with a backyard to go. The kick reversal only resulted in a punt in Winnipeg
