DETROIT – Pierre-Luc Dubois scored two goals and an badist to help the Columbus Blue Jackets defeat the Detroit Red Wings 7-5 at the Little Caesars Arena on Monday.
Columbus led 5-1 in the second period, but Detroit reduced it to 5-4 and 6-5 in the third period.
"We have to learn a lot from this game," said Dubois. "We can not let a team come back in a match when we have four goals in advance."

Artemi Panarin had a goal and two badists, and Sergei Bobrovsky made 27 saves for the Blue Jackets (14-8-2), who have won five of their last seven games.
"When we got up 5-1, our guys thought that the evening would be easy and that there is no easy night in this league," said Blue Jackets coach , John Tortorella. "We've let it turn into a slop party, and we're very lucky to get out of here on the bright side."

Anthony Mantha had two goals and some help, and Dennis Cholowski had a goal and help for the Red Wings (10-11-3), who lost three straight (0-2-1). Jimmy Howard allowed three goals on 16 shots before being replaced early in the second period by Jonathan Bernierwho made 12 saves.
"I do not think we have fought badly enough and we did not run when we had opportunities in the first period," said Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill. "I thought we played well enough to win our last two games and we deserved to lose this one."
Dubois gave the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead at 7:34 of the first period, taking a Panarin pbad on the end boards and beating Howard from the front.
"In a place like this, I know that Artemi is going to do some sort of game, but I never know what it will be," Dubois said. "I would not even have thought of buying it that way."
Josh Anderson did 2-0 at 9:51, steal the puck from Thomas Vanek to the blue line and marking of the right circle.
Panarin scored a power play goal to make it 3-0 at 4:04, beating Howard with a wrist shot from the top of the right circle.
Gustav Nyquist scored 44 seconds in the second period to bring the score to 3-1.

Markus Nutivaara marked on a single timer to do it 4-1 to 5:02, and Boone Jenner finished a 4-on-2 to extend the lead to 5-1 at 6:40.
Mike Green scored a turnaround by Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard 5-2 at 8:05, and Cholowski reduced the score to 5-3 with a power-play goal at 17:43.
Mantha scored 39 seconds in the third period on a back pbad from Dylan Larkin to make it 5-4.
Dubois gave Columbus a 6-4 lead at 3:34. After Savard's first shot hit Bernier, the puck was cleared from the goal line in favor of Dubois, who scored the last goal. Blashill challenged the goalkeeper's intervention, but the call was confirmed after a video viewing.
"It was really confusing," Dubois said. "[The referees] they said it was a goal, and then they looked at it (to interfere with the goalkeeper) for a long time. When they said it was a good goal, we were not sure what they were meant for. We congratulate Savard and he said he thought it was mine. "
Mantha shot Detroit at 6-5 at 5:48 pm but Seth Jones scored in an empty net at 18:29 to reach 7-5.
"Momentum means a lot in this league, and we dropped it when we lost 3-0 in the first period, but we found it in the third," Blashill said. "We can not, however, let them score that sixth goal.
