The New Jersey Devils allowed the Philadelphia Flyers to talk to Chuck Fletcher about their vacant chief executive, reports Bob McKenzie of TSN Hockey Insider.

No surprises at all, but NJ gave PHI permission to talk to Chuck Fletcher about GM's vacancy with the Flyers. As @DarrenDreger reports Monday, Fletcher is the favorite.

Fletcher is the Devils' senior adviser to the Director General / Hockey Operations, a position he was appointed in June.

The 51-year-old has spent nine seasons as General Manager of Minnesota Wild, where the team has played in the playoffs for six consecutive seasons.

The Flyers fired Monday the general manager Ron Hextall.
