After nine tries, famed chef Paula Deen's husband won the "Look-Alike" contest of Ernest Hemingway, which takes place every year in the Florida city where the writer lived and worked in the 1930s.

Michael Groover won the contest that took place Saturday at Sloppy Joe's Bar, where Hemingway often relaxed with friends. Deen was there to applaud the victory of her 62-year-old husband, a Savannah port pilot.

The contest was held on the occasion of the 119th anniversary of the birth of Hemingway and is a highlight of the annual celebration of Hemingway Days. Judged by former winners, this year's contest attracted 151 participants. The semifinalists included participants from Australia, Norway and Canada.

In 2016, the competition made headlines when it was won by a Hemingway, namely Dave Hemingway of Macon, North Carolina.

He said at the time that as the author, he liked to fish and drink "and I love women.I like to have a good time.I feel like Ernest because that I am in the city where he lived for so many years. "

On Saturday, Groover declared that he also shared Hemingway's love for fishing and hunting. He also wrote a book, My Delicious Life with Paula Deen.
