LOS ANGELES – Alec Martinez scored 55 seconds to go and the Los Angeles Kings ended six games with a 4-3 victory over the New York Rangers on Sunday.
Martinez brought the puck from behind the net into the offensive zone and pulled a wrist shot through the legs of Brendan Smith and former goalkeeper Henrik Lundqvist for his first goal of the season.
Ilya Kovalchuk had a purpose and a help, Trevor Lewis marked and Jack Campbell made 22 saves in the place of the wounded Jonathan Quick for kings. Dustin Brown, who debuted in the season after breaking a finger in the final pre-season game in Los Angeles, also scored.
Vladislav Namestnikov and Tony DeAngelo everyone had a purpose and a help and Ryan Spooner also scored for the Rangers, who are winless in five road games. Lundqvist made 36 saves.

Rangers coach David Quinn said on Saturday that there was a chance that McQuaid would be available for one or the other of the last two games of this four-game trip.
