Demi Lovato's mother shared that the singer has been sober for 90 days and on the path to healing.
Dianna De La Garza gave Maria Menounos' "Sirius XM" an update after an overdose in July.
"Yes, she has 90 days and I can not be more grateful or proud of her because addiction is an illness, it's a job," said 56-year-old Dianna.
"It's very difficult, it's not easy and there is no shortcut possible," she continued before adding that she was not aware of the circumstances surrounding the hospitalization of Half.
"I can not really say for sure. I really do not know, "she says.
Dianna also explained how she first discovered the heartbreaking and disturbing news about her daughter.
"I was looking at my phone and I saw all these SMS coming from everywhere … and the only message that had informed me of what was happening was saying," I just saw on TMZ and I am really sorry. ", she confessed.
Initially unaware of the reasons why Demi was taken to the hospital, Dianna revealed that she feared her daughter would die in a car accident.
"I was terrified of looking at my phone," she added.
While the 26-year-old singer did not live with her mother, Dianna knew that her daughter was no longer sober at the time of her alleged overdose.
"I just knew that she was not sober and that's all I really knew at that time," she told the host Maria.
And after receiving a call from Kelsey Kershner, then her daughter's badistant, Dianna rushed to the hospital with her eldest son, Dallas.
"It was two difficult days," she added sadly.
