Alexis Parr and Eleanor Blais make a date to participate in the Rotary Community Day Parade each year.
The daughter and mother met for breakfast at Muio's house before attending the long-running parade for about 25 to 30 years.
The overcast sky and the possibility of rain did not prevent the pair from continuing its tradition on Saturday.
Each woman brought her own umbrella with garden chairs in front of Superior Suds in Queen and East Streets.
Blais likes to see how the floats are decorated and how young people "get excited" at an event that lasted 97 years. Parr appreciates the effort shown by parade participants to prepare their entries.
