NEW YORK – A representative of Demi Lovato says that she is awake and that she is recovering with her family after the pop singer was hospitalized Tuesday for an overdose.

The statement did not provide details on the hospitalization of the singer.

Emergency authorities confirmed that they had transported a 25 – year – old woman who lives in the Demi Lovato building to the hospital after receiving a call at 11:22 Tuesday.
