MILWAUKEE – Tonight, the unbeaten NBA teams between the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors will miss much of their expected star power.
The Raptors said before the match that they were resting the star Kawhi Leonard. The Bucks will miss the dominant Greek striker Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was placed in the concussion protocol after suffering an elbow injury during the Bucks' last game.
The Raptors play the first difficult game from back to back. They welcome the 76ers from Philadelphia Tuesday night.
Leonard also missed the first game the last time the Raptors played back-to-back contests. He missed Toronto's 117-113 victory in Washington on Oct. 20 before returning for the Raptors' 127-106 win over his visit to Charlotte.
Leonard, who had been restricted to nine games last season because of a quad injury, averaged 26.6 points (out of 50% shots), eight rebounds, three badists and 1.6 steals this season.
Antetokounmpo averaged 25 points (50.8% shooting), 14.2 rebounds, 5.7 badists and 1.7 blocks.
The Raptors will also be deprived of second-year striker OG Anunoby for personal reasons. Top scorer Fred VanVleet (toe) is questionable, while goalie Delon Wright (adductor) should play.
The Raptors and Bucks come into play with a 6-0 record. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this is the first meeting of the NBA between two teams with a record of 6-0 or more.
