The world's leading smartphone maker, Samsung, has quietly announced the launch of the Google Galaxy J4 Core phone, second edition of Go's Android after the J2 Core, launched in India in August.
As the name suggests, it is an advanced version of the J2 Core. The new Galaxy J4 Core features a 6.0-inch HD + display with a resolution of 720x1480p. At the back, it displays a polycarbonate shell with a top main camera module with LED flash.
The Samsung device comes with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card) and a battery of 3,300 mAh, which is more than enough for the phone to work for a whole day in mixed use.
As previously stated, the Galaxy J4 Core is a Google-affiliated phone and only uses the Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition. For those who would not know, the mobile operating system development team Android has optimized Android Go specifically for cost-effective smartphones with a minimum of 1GB of RAM (or less) hardware. It is very light in size but does not compromise in terms of performance.
It's also worth noting that the Android team has improvised pre-installed Google apps (for example, Go Files, Google Go, Maps Go and YouTube Go, among others) to occupy 50% less space, which guarantees users of low-end smartphones more space for music, apps, photos and other activities.
As for the photography equipment, the Galaxy J4 Core comes with 8 MP with F2.2 aperture and a 5MP sensor on the front with dedicated LED flash. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint sensor on both the front and the back.
In the data sheet, the company did not indicate whether the Galaxy J4 Core would have a direct release or not. If not, it will be very difficult for Samsung to convince consumers, especially in emerging markets, where even new entrants on the market have these security features. The price, which the company has not yet revealed, will determine the fate of the device.
