Walt Disney Pictures has released the official trailer of Artemis Fowl, the long-awaited adaptation of the series of books for young adults! Check Artemis Fowl trailer in the player below!

Disney Artemis Fowl, based on the beloved book of Eoin Colfer, is a fantastic and mesmerizing adventure following the journey of the 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, descendant of a long line of criminal brains, as he seeks to find his father mysteriously faded away. With the help of his faithful protector Butler, Artemis begins to find him and thus discovers an ancient clandestine civilization, the incredibly advanced world of fairies. Deducting that his father's disappearance is somehow tied to the secret and fairy world of the fairies, Artemis's ruse devises a dangerous plan – so dangerous that he eventually finds himself in a perilous war of war with the fairies all powerful.

Newcomer Ferdia Shaw plays the main character with Lara McDonnell (Love, Rosie) playing Captain Holly Short, a fiery and fiery elf, who is kidnapped by Artemis for a golden fairy ransom. In the underground world of Haven City fairies, Lady Judi Dench (Sky Fall) plays Commander Root, Leader of the Reconnaissance Division of LEPrecon, the Fairy Police Police, and Josh Gad (The beauty and the Beast) plays Mulch Diggums, a kleptomaniac dwarf who tries to help save Holly.

Above the ground, Nonso Anozie (Cinderella) plays the Fowl family's bodyguards, named Butler, and Tamara Smart (The worst witch) plays Butler's niece, Juliet. Miranda Reason (Murder on the Orient Express) plays Angeline, the mother of Artemis.

Josh McGuire (About time), Hong Chau (Downsizing), Nikesh Patel (London fell), Michael Abubakar (Believe me), Jake Davies (A bright young mind), Rachel Denning (Doctor Who), Matt Jessup (Fear), Simone Kirby (Alice through the mirror), Sally Messham (Ally) and Adrian Scarborough (Wretched).

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the book was adapted to the screen by award-winning playwright Conor McPherson.

Branagh brings back several members of his creative team, including Haris Zambarloukos, director of photography; Jim Clay, production designer; Patrick Doyle, composer; and Carol Hemming, hair and make-up designer, all of whom worked on the Branagh production project in 2017, Murder on the Orient Express. The costume designer is Sammy Sheldon Differ (Assbadin's Creed), and the film will be edited by Martin Walsh (Wonder Woman).

Artemis Fowl is produced by Kenneth Branagh and Judy Hofflund, with Matthew Jenkins and Angus More Gordon as Executive Producers.
